Updated Design Adds Protection, Sound Amplification and a Stand in One Ultra-Slim Design

MILWAUKEE (January 22, 2013) – Bandshell, an iPhone case manufacturer, is leveraging popular creative funding platform Kickstarter to raise development funds for an update to their one-of-a-kind case. The case addresses common iPhone issues, utilizing battery- and cord-free amplification to improve sound quality of the iPhone 5.

The Bandshell uses a patented retractable sound door that glides from the back of the case to amplify the acoustics of the iPhone’s internal speaker. This sound door also improves audio recording quality.

“The second generation of Bandshell offers the same sound enhancement and convenience as the original design for the iPhone 3GS, which was introduced in 2010. The new version uses the newest materials and technology for the iPhone 5,” said Ted McNamara, CEO of Bandshell. “Our new one-piece case is extremely thin, smooth and soft to the touch.”

The updated design will use a combination of polycarbonate and silicone to provide stylish yet durable protection from falls, bumps and handling. A new durable kickstand on the back of the case allows the iPhone to stand supported on its side for viewing videos or using video chat. Bandshell also offers convenience when hosting conference calls – it can be used hands free and projects audio to all participants in a room.

Bandshell’s Kickstarter program will fund development of the updated design for the iPhone 5. The 30-day campaign, beginning today, seeks to raise $15,000 to produce a mold and begin mass production. Pledges of $25 or more include a Bandshell iPhone 5 black case.

“Bandshell is a completely unique case that stands above all others in the market,” said McNamara. “Our Kickstarter campaign will help us bring this design to life and capitalize on the buzz the original received in 2010.”

About TJM Innovations and Bandshell

Based in Milwaukee, TJM Innovations is owned by Ted and Julie McNamara. They invented Bandshell after being inspired to find a convenient way to improve sound quality and amplify sound when using an iPhone. Recognizing the inconvenience of other speakers that are bulky or require multiple, detachable parts, Bandshell’s team developed a secure, convenient solution that is easy to use and carry. The McNamaras are considering developing Bandshell for other mobile phone brands in addition to iPhones.
