St. Norbert College: Announces January language services events

DE PERE, WIS.: St. Norbert College Language Services will hold the following events this January for the general public:

Global Railroading Experience: Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the National Railroad Museum, 2285 South Broadway, Green Bay. Participants will explore the development and history of railroading beginning with a global perspective and concluding with Green Bay and northeast Wisconsin. The event is $75 per person for the entire four-part series. Register by Jan. 2.

“La Cucina Tradizionale Italiana”– Basic Sauces: Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 2900 Curry Lane, Green Bay. Participants will learn how to make traditional tomato, ragu, besciamella and pesto sauces and receive suggestions on where to find fresh ingredients according to the season. This workshop will be taught by Italy native Paola Vianello, and costs $40 per person. Register by Jan. 14.

Oneida – The Creation Story: Saturday, Jan. 25, 9 a.m.-noon on the St. Norbert College campus. The Iroquois are an oral society and for centuries have passed down their understanding of how the world began through stories. In this workshop, participants will learn about the Oneida creation story and the responsibilities the Creator intended the human family to uphold as the protectors of the natural world. The workshop costs $30 per person, $20 for St. Norbert College students, faculty, staff and alumni. Register by Jan. 17.
