SSM Health Care of Wisconsin: Announces the addition of two new leaders in the region

Madison, Wis. – SSM Health Care of Wisconsin is excited to announce the hiring of two key members of the leadership team in Wisconsin. After conducting a national search, SSM has filled the positions of President/CEO of Dean Clinic and Regional President/CEO of Hospital Operations.

Stewart Watson, MD has been named President/CEO of Dean Clinic. His role will focus on the management of physician practices and clinic operations for the Wisconsin region.

Dr. Watson comes to SSM from Ministry Medical Group, based in central Wisconsin, where he has served as its President/CEO. He is a native of Madison, Wis., and received his undergraduate degree in economics from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago.

SSM is equally excited to announce that Damond Boatwright, MS, MHA, has been named Regional President/CEO of Hospital Operations for SSM Health Care of Wisconsin. In his new role, Boatwright will focus on hospital operations at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital.

He has led patient-centered care delivery at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area since October 2011. It is one of the nation’s top performing hospitals on key quality measures, named so by The Joint Commission, the nation’s leading accreditor of health care organizations. Boatwright graduated from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina with a degree in business administration and earned his master’s degree in health administration and health sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina – Charleston.
