MADISON, Wis. (December 11, 2013)— By turning UW football tailgates into fundraising events, ROUGH Sportswear raise money for area non-profits, with the final tailgate bringing in a $1,000 unrestricted donation for Porchlight homelessness solutions. “We really appreciate ROUGH Sportswear for all that they do,” commented Steven Schooler, Executive Director for Porchlight, “Not just for us, but all of the organizations they support.”

This football season, ROUGH raised $7,000 for seven local non-profit organizations. “We had amazing success and great collaborations,” states Trent Jackson, ROUGH’s CEO. “From sports fans to businesses, everyone we connected with understood that pre-game fun could be turned into something bigger to help make the world a little better.” Jackson’s giving back attitude is in line with the company’s mission to donate at least 10% of sales to non-profit organizations.

Benefactors of the 2013 tailgates are Madison-area Boys & Girls’ Club, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance, American Parkinson’s Disease Association, Ann’s Hope Foundation, Dane County Humane Society, and Porchlight homeless solutions. Non-profit also received on-air exposure during WJJO live broadcasts at Buckingham’s Bar & Grill. Sara Investments and Neider & Boucher law firm supported this season’s tailgates.
