RightDoc: Puts physician recommendations in the hands of consumers

Business launch provides e-based tool to research healthcare providers

APPLETON, Wisconsin (April 5, 2013) – Consumers now have a missing link in managing their own healthcare as RightDoc.com opens for business. The service will connect consumers to thousands of physician profiles across Wisconsin with plans to broaden the service nationwide.

The website offers a robust database of physicians paired with consumer endorsements, information about physician education, experience, and information consumers need to select a specialized physician. Individuals, providers and healthcare organizations can edit their information and provide as much data as needed to help consumers make an informed decision. RightDoc was founded in 2009 by a group of healthcare providers including physicians, physical therapists, and nurses who used their clinical experience to identify the need for a comprehensive, online resource for the healthcare industry.

“Patients have to see too many doctors before finding the right one to help them overcome their medical issues,” said Mike Zielinski, founder and CEO of RightDoc www.rightdoc.com. “Not only does this lead to decreased quality of life and preventable suffering, but it also leads to unnecessary increased healthcare costs.”

Zielinski is a physical therapist and was chosen to participate in a breakthrough entrepreneur program in Northeast Wisconsin. He has been part of the Fast Forward program developed through the regional economic development organization, New North, Inc. The program identifies high-growth start-ups and pairs them with mentors, talent and financing to put business growth on a fast track.

Zielinski worked one-on-one with regional CEO’s and Fox Valley Technical College’s Venture Center to research and fine-tune his business plan.

“The discipline of working with professionals who have been in my shoes helped me identify opportunities I was missing,” Zielinski said. As a result, RightDoc.com provides a “liberating” health care experience. Features of the website are:

The Find A Doctor tool (www.rightdoc.com/find-a-doctor) provides accurate and pertinent provider information not found on similar websites.

The site’s founders chose to only focus on the positive experiences that patients have with their doctors and allow users to provide this feedback in the form of an endorsement (www.rightdoc.com/endorse-a-doctor.) “When a user is searching for a doctor on our site, they are only reading about a provider’s strengths, which have been identified directly by patient endorsements,” said Zielinski.

When preparing for an appointment, The Prepare to See a Doctor (www.rightdoc.com/prepare-for-doctor) tab supplies specific information based on the type of doctor instead of possible diagnoses.

Consumers can create an account (www.rightdoc.com/consumer-login) that tracks specific doctors and sends alerts when a provider’s profile is changed.

The website also assists doctors a way to manage their online reputation and market themselves to potential patients without any concerns about negative reviews.

Both healthcare consumers and providers can use RightDoc for free. RightDoc plans to roll out RightDoc Rewards, its loyalty program and RightDoc PRO, a service for providers later this year.

RightDoc is an Appleton, Wis. based company that helps healthcare consumers find the right doctor and prepare for their upcoming doctor visits.
