MILWAUKEE, Wis. (July 10, 2013) — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that David B. Kern, a partner in the firm’s Milwaukee office, has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by ones colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence. The eighteenth installation of Fellows will be held on November 9, 2013 in New Orleans, coincident with the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s Continuing Legal Education Conference. With the current installation, the College is represented by almost twelve hundred members in forty-five states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and eight provinces from Canada.

Kern practices in the area of labor and employment law and chairs the section’s National Labor Relations Act Team. His practice includes an emphasis on grievance arbitration, discrimination litigation, employer counseling and collective bargaining. He represents clients in state and federal courts and before the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and other state and federal agencies. In 2012, Kern was recognized as Best Lawyers® 2012 Milwaukee Employment Law – Management “Lawyer of the Year” and in 2013 as Best Lawyers® 2013 Milwaukee Labor Law – Management “Lawyer of the Year.”

He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Marquette University.
