MILWAUKEE, WIS. (November 22, 2013) — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Jacob M. Fritz, Michael T. Piery and Patrick H. Taylor have joined the firm as associates in the Milwaukee office. Fritz and Piery join the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and Taylor joins the Corporate Services Group.
About the Attorneys:
Jacob Fritz joins the firm as an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. While in law school he served as an extern in the Patent Legal Department of DEKA Research and Development Corp. where he worked with patent attorneys on patent application and office action drafting for U.S. and PCT applications. He was also an extern patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He earned his law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Michael Piery also joins the firm as an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, he served as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for over four years. As a patent examiner, he examined applications across various technologies, including polymers, semiconductors, medical devices, fuel cells, chemical compositions, and plastics processing. He received his law degree from George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Patrick Taylor joins the firm as an associate in the Corporate Services Practice Group. While in law school he served as a judicial intern for Justice Patrick Crooks, Supreme Court of Wisconsin and as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Richard Brown, Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Throughout the years, Taylor has been heavily involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints community serving in several roles including missionary, Sunday school teacher and youth group teacher. He earned his law degree and master’s degree from William and Mary and his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University.
