Quaker Steak & Lube: Restaurant hosting safe Halloween event

Trunk or Treat Offers Spook-Free Way to Trick or Treat

NEW BERLIN, WI. There are lots of things to be scared of on Halloween—goblins, vampires, wolfmen or ending up with a bunch of Smarties candy—but one thing parents won’t have to worry about is finding a good, safe place to trick or treat. Or “Trunk or Treat” as the case may be.

As part of “Trunk or Treat” on Saturday, October 26th, Quaker Steak & Lube, 4900 South Moorland Road, will bring the trick or treating to a safe location that doesn’t skimp on the candy-fueled fun. That day, over 30 cars are expected to decorate their grilles, windshields, wheels and trunks with ghoulish decorations befitting the season. Not only will owners get to show off their decked out cars, they’ll also hand out candy to the costumed delight of children.

“Kids can get out there, see a monster or two, and do it safely,” said Leah Kusch, Quaker Steak and Lube marketing and activities director. “It’s in our parking lot during the day, allowing kids to have all of the candy, all of the fun and none of the danger.”

In addition to the decorated cars and the mounds of candy, the Halloween festivities will also include a costume contest (for both children and adults), pumpkin bowling, model car building and Gizzard Coop, the 6-foot-tall QS&L mascot. Music and entertainment will be provided by Capt’n Bob and Arlo, hosts of Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio. Kids attending will also vote on their favorite decorated car, with a trophy and prize awarded.

“This is just a great way for the whole family to have a whole lot of fun—no trick,” said Kusch “Although, when there’s a 6-foot-tall chicken dressed up in HIS Halloween costume, you know that’s quite a treat.”
