Quaker Steak & Lube: Nursing with chicken wings

Restaurant gives discount for National Nurses Week May 6 to May 12

New Berlin, WI. Nursing is described as both an art and a science, but during National Nurses Week from May 6 to May 12, it will be described as a way to receive a 20 percent discount on food at Quaker Steak & Lube.

“Long hours and stressful situations, large patient loads and overloaded schedules. Many times, nurses do a thankless job,” says Quaker Steak and Lube marketing/activities coordinator, Leah Kusch. “This is our way of thanking them.”

By showing a resident nurse ID card or pay stub, patrons will receive 20 percent off the entire food order, excluding alcohol.

National Nurses’ Week runs from May 6, which is National Nurses’ Day, through May 12, which is Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale served as a nurse during the Crimean War and paved the way for modern systems of nursing.
