Recognition highlights company’s wellness program, started in 2005
Milwaukee (November 11, 2013) – Primum Marketing Communications was honored at an awards luncheon on October 31, 2013 after being chosen as one of Milwaukee’s healthiest employers. Primum shares the recognition with 30 winners, who were selected by The Business Journal and their partner, Healthiest Employers, LLC. This award marks the second consecutive win for Primum, an organization that has valued wellness in their company culture since day one.
“Wellness activities are considered part of Primum’s 15 core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and are tracked alongside our financial and client service goals,” said Colin Hutt, president of Primum.
The company tracks progress for their wellness goals on an electronic scoreboard displayed in the office, keeping them top of mind. The team is rewarded for achieving goals with incentives such as team outings and office lunches.
The Business Journal and Healthiest Employers, LLC required nominees to complete a 75-question survey, and then ran the answers through a proprietary system to evaluate each company’s wellness programs. Primum’s wellness program, which has grown since the company’s inception in 2005, includes varied activities like group yoga classes and runs along the lake. The company also strives to incorporate physical activity into their offsite work sessions. Primum employees can participate in a daily “wellness walk,” which involves walking the full 7 flights of stairs in their Third Ward office building. New in 2013, the program added biometric screening and personal fitness coaching as an employee benefit.
The full list of winners, released in the November 1 edition of The Business Journal, was grouped into three categories by size: small, medium and large employers. Primum was one of ten companies honored in the small-business category for ensuring their employees are balancing work with healthy activities.
