Demolition to kick off construction of new, private student housing development near Marquette’s campus

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 13, 2013) – The Opus Group announced today that on Monday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m., the Wisconsin office will begin construction of IVY on Fourteenth by commencing demolition of the building located at 1400 W. Wells St. near Marquette University’s campus that was formerly occupied by Kampus Foods, Sweeny’s Books and a Subway restaurant.

IVY on Fourteenth will be an 80-unit, 165-bed, six-story private student housing development. Expected to open for the 2014 school year, IVY on Fourteenth will include numerous amenities for tenants, including in-unit washers and dryers, indoor parking, a fitness center, study rooms and social areas. The 7,500 square feet of ground floor retail space will include a Subway restaurant and other retailers yet to be announced.

Opus Development Company, L.L.C. is the developer, and Opus Design Build, L.L.C. will manage the design and construction of the building. Korb Tredo Architects is the project architect. Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC will own the project.
