New workforce tools to be unveiled that will help to meet the skills gap

NEW NORTH, November 26, 2013 – Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker will be among the speakers at the 10th annual New North Summit, sponsored by BMO Harris, which is scheduled for Friday, December 6, at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Green Bay. Walker will address a central theme of this year’s Summit, closing the skills gap, among several topics.

“We are pleased to again welcome Governor Walker to the New North Summit,” says Jerry Murphy, executive director of New North, Inc. “New workforce tools are being unveiled at this year’s Summit, and it will be great to hear about these from the governor. We also expect him to expound upon the manufacturing tax credit and its benefits to New North companies.”

Walker was inaugurated as Wisconsin’s 45th governor on January 3, 2011. He has identified growing the state economy and developing the workforce as being among his priorities. A nationally recognized speaker, Walker recently authored a book, Unintimidated: A Governor’s Story and a Nation’s Challenge.
