(WEST BEND, WI) The Museum of Wisconsin Art (MWA) located in West Bend, Wisconsin will temporarily close its doors at 300 South 6th Avenue on January 20 and will remain closed until the Grand Opening at the NEW building, the weekend of April 5 – 7. After several years of planning, fundraising and hard work, the new Museum of Wisconsin Art building is nearly complete with staff and art currently being transitioned from the old building, to the new, state-of-the-art facility at 205 Veterans Avenue, still in West Bend.

“The staff and board of directors at the Museum of Wisconsin Art look forward to the debut of the new building, not only as a unique architectural structure that will be the new home to the Museum, but also as a symbol of the new vision of what’s to come in MWA’s future,” says Laurie Winters, Executive Director/CEO at the Museum. “We’re about to embark on a new era in MWA’s history, becoming a different organization at every level, setting ourselves to a higher standard.”

In addition to being Wisconsin’s only regional art museum, the modern and sophisticated new MWA building will also serve as a premier rental facility. A unique venue in the West Bend area, the Museum will be ideal for hosting weddings and special events. Bookings are already being accepted. Contact the Museum now for more information, info@wisconsinart.org or 262.334.9638.

Watch for more details coming soon on the Grand Opening weekend at the new Museum of Wisconsin Art, April 5 – 7.
