“The Future of the Milwaukee County Board” will be the focus of a special joint Milwaukee Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon and On the Issues with Mike Gousha on Thursday, April 4.

Some call it meaningful reform. Others call it a power grab. Co-sponsored by the Law School and the Press Club, this event will focus on a controversial proposal now before the state legislature. Should Milwaukee County Supervisors be part-time, their salaries cut and their oversight limited? Or would such changes go too far, leaving too much power in the hands of the County Executive, and ignoring the argument of local control?

Joining us will be the author of the legislation, State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo (R-West Allis), who recently served on the County Board, and Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, who opposes the bill. They will answer questions from Mike Gousha and other journalists.

The forum will run from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.

Space is limited. Register here: https://law.marquette.edu/current-students/issues-future-milwaukee-county-board
