Madison, WI – Richard A. Latta, a partner in the Madison office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, will speak at the Wisconsin State Bar’s Third Annual Real Estate and Business Law Institute on Thursday, June 13. Mr. Latta is co-chair of the Wisconsin Business Law Section’s Chapter 183 Subcommittee and will describe the soon to be proposed revision to Wisconsin’s Limited Liability Company (LLC) Act to adopt the Revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act (RULLCA). The discussion will also describe certain modifications to RULLCA intended to preserve important, long-standing Wisconsin policy judgments reflected in Wisconsin’s current LLC law.

Mr. Latta is a partner in Michael Best’s Transactional Group and co-chair of the Reorganization, Financial Restructuring and Workouts Group. He practices in the areas of corporate and partnership acquisitions and reorganizations, corporate banking transactions, corporate and LLC governance matters, tax law and planning for closely-held businesses. He has received national and regional recognition for his legal and civic pursuits. This includes Mr. Latta being listed in Best Lawyers In America every year since 2006 and includes being recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers In America as Madison’s 2013 Corporate Law “Lawyer of the Year.”
