Milwaukee, WI (February 20, 2013) – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is proud to announce that partners Gayle A. Bush and Thomas A. Miller have been listed as BTI Client Service All-Stars for 2013. BTI conducted over 240 individual interviews with corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 and large organizations. The goal was to probe clients on every aspect of law firm relationships, needs and priorities, law firms clients rely on and, perhaps most importantly, client expectations for client service. Bush and Miller are two of only 19 intellectual property attorneys to receive this award across the nation.
Bush is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group who focuses her practice on all aspects of patent prosecution, as well as related opinion and agreement matters. She has handled matters involving disc drives, as well as chip and chip manufacturing technology. Bush has experience addressing issues related to the protection of intellectual property in various technical fields, including power tools, food processing, material handling and refrigeration systems. She is also experienced with patentability analysis, infringement analysis and patent validity analysis. Her other experience includes patent litigation, trademark prosecution, trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, and related agreement matters.
Miller is also a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. His practice focuses on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights of all types including for manufacturers, financial services companies and SaaS companies. Miller also provides counseling regarding intellectual property portfolio management and innovation strategies in addition to counseling regarding infringement and validity issues. This includes the rendering of opinions of counsel on infringement and validity, as well as assistance with designing products to maximize intellectual property value and avoid infringement of the intellectual property rights of others.
