MILWAUKEE – Charles Franklin, nationally recognized polling expert and director of the Marquette Law School Poll, will be the next guest for “On the Issues with Mike Gousha,” Tuesday, March 19, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.

Franklin and Gousha will go inside the numbers of the latest Marquette Law School Poll, the first of 2013, which will look at public views on national and state issues, including Wisconsin budget priorities, support for political figures and perceptions of jobs and the economy.

During the historic 2012 election year, the Marquette Law School Poll, led by Franklin, provided a comprehensive, independent survey of voter attitudes in Wisconsin. It was the largest independent polling project in state history and accurately captured voter attitudes before every major election in 2012, including the gubernatorial recall, U.S. Senate and presidential races.

Franklin has been a professor of political science at UW-Madison for the past 20 years. He co-founded Pollster.com, which became an award-winning site for nonpartisan polling analysis, and is a member of the ABC News election-night analysis team.

Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy and an award-winning journalist, continues his “On the Issues” series of provocative and insightful interviews with local and national public officials, journalists and other newsmakers throughout the year. The spring 2013 schedule is also available.

Seating is limited; registration is available online. For those who can’t attend in person, all “On the Issues” events are streamed live online at the following website, which also contains a catalog of past guests.

Media interested in attending should contact Chris Jenkins in the Office of Marketing and Communication at (414) 288-4745 or christopher.t.jenkins@marquette.edu.
