Madison’s Central BID: Holiday Open House Nov. 29-30: More family activities plus Teen Gift Drive!

MADISON, Wis. — Enjoy free holiday fun for kids and families plus special offers at participating merchants at the Downtown Madison Holiday Open House, Friday and Saturday, November 29-30, 2013, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, on State Street and the Capitol Square. The Holiday Open House has been expanded to include family fun performances and activities on the Friday as well as Saturday after Thanksgiving, plus a new “Shop for Good” program supporting the United Way of Dane County Teen Gift Drive. Enjoy an ice sculpting demonstration in Peace Park, pictures with Santa and a holiday crafting party at DreamBank, Holiday Trolley rides and welcome bags, “Kids in the Rotunda” performances at Overture Center (including a special Friday Kids in the Rotunda, “Bubble Wonders” and Saturday’s “Shadow Puppetry with Daniel Barash”), plus activities for children and adults at the new Central Library. Stop by downtown businesses, many locally owned, to get a start on your holiday shopping. “Shop for Good” to help local teens have a happy holiday season, and join downtown merchants in supporting United Way of Dane County. While enjoying the Holiday Open House, you can “Shop for Good” and help local teens have a happy holiday season! While shopping downtown, pick up a gift from a “wish list” created by teens, and drop off your donation during the Holiday Open House. United Way will distribute to teens of families in need.
