MADISON, Wis. (Wednesday, February 20, 2013) ― Madison Children’s Museum’s second annual Steampunk-themed Adult Swim lets time-traveling revelers enjoy a grand evening of neoVictorian fun at.

“Adult Swim: Steampunk 2.0” takes place from 6–10 p.m. Friday, March 1. Attendees are encouraged to dress the theme to play Victorian parlor games, join the fashion-invention showcase, and have cards read in the rooftop Tea Room. Entertainment will be provided by the First Brigade Band and DJ Doctor Oxygen. Plus, James the Magician will recreate Houdini’s famous straight-jacket escape.

“Last year’s Steampunk was a roaring success and tons of fun. People were there in full Steam regalia and we expect even more creative costumes and inventions this year,” states Sandra Bonnici Hoecherl, Associate Director of Education for MCM. Photos of last year’s Steampunk Adult Swim can be found online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcmmarketing. This year’s event is welcomed by WORT.

Adults 21 and up are welcome. Tickets are $12 and available at MadisonChildrensMuseum.org . Tickets include access to the museum’s exhibits and to the band. A valid ID will be required to enter the event.

Adult Swim: Adult Swim is a bimonthly fundraiser that honors the public pool tradition of kicking the kids out so adults can have the space to themselves. Grownups get the chance to be young for the evening, crawling, sliding, and dancing their way through the night.
