Madison, Wis. (Sep. 30, 2013)—Enjoy family fun at the Downtown Madison Family Halloween, State Street and the Capitol Square, Friday, October 25, 2013, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Activities for families and kids 12 and under include magic shows, hayrides, crafts, ghostly songs and stories, kids’ musical theater, trick or treat at participating businesses, and more. Stay into the evening for ““Beakers and Broomsticks: Mad Scientists” (ticketed event), at the Madison Children’s Museum. Activities will include Madison Parks Hayrides around the Capitol Square, Halloween Magic & Ventriloquist Shows with Wayne the Wizard plus Halloween family photos at Overture Center, spooky crafts and scary stories at Madison Central Library, a Day of the Dead exhibition and take-home mask at Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, trick or treat bag decorating at DreamBank – American Family Insurance, ancient musical madness from MadCAP (songs include Greece Is The Word, In My Tomb, So Long Ago and Toga Party Tonight), a make your own ghost craft activity plus Ghostly Songs and Stories from Wisconsin with Stuart Stotts at the Wisconsin Historical Museum, and trick or treating at participating businesses and organizations.

These Halloween family fun events are presented by Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID), and the Greater State Street Business Association.
