Kahler Slater Wins Six 2012 ASID Wisconsin Design Excellence Awards
Health Care, Education, Sports and Recreation Projects Bring Home Awards
MILWAUKEE – Teams from the Milwaukee and Madison, Wis. offices of Kahler Slater, an award-winning architecture and experience design firm, received six 2012 ASID Wisconsin Design Excellence Awards – two Gold Awards, two Silver Awards and two Bronze Awards.
Presented by the Wisconsin chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the awards recognize outstanding interior design in such categories as corporate/office space, health care, retail and hospitality. Winners were chosen by a jury of ASID members from outside of Wisconsin. Projects were evaluated on the appropriateness of the design solution; functional use of space; innovative and creative use of space, scale and proportion; color composition; design elements; and commitment to sustainability.
Kahler Slater’s winning projects spanned the competition’s Healthcare/Medical, Entertainment/Recreation and Educational categories and featured the work of teams in the firm’s Health Care, Academic Health Sciences, Sports, and Recreation and Wellness practice areas.
Honored with Gold Awards were the UW Health Yahara Clinic in Monona, Wis. (Healthcare/Medical category) and the Mukwonago YMCA in Mukwonago, Wis. (Entertainment/Recreation category).
Earning Silver Awards in the Healthcare/Medical category were the Meriter DeForest-Windsor Clinic in DeForest, Wis. and the Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, Wis.
Receiving Bronze Awards were the BMO Harris Bradley Center Theater Boxes in Milwaukee (Entertainment/Recreation category) and the Elgin Community College Health and Life Sciences Building in Elgin, Ill. (Educational category).
