Madison, WI – Idle Free Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of electric idle elimination solutions for the commercial trucking industry and school buses, is pleased to announce its recent hire of Steven Hecimovich, who joined the Idle Free Systems team as Vice President of Operations. He will manage the production of Idle Free’s electric auxiliary power units (APU) and oversee supply chain and facilities management, and support the company’s product development initiatives.

Hecimovich’s background in production, engineering and quality management will help ensure Idle Free continues to grow at a record pace, allowing the company to further its leadership position with North American fleets seeking to control fuel costs, decrease their carbon footprint and increase profitability.

“Great companies are defined by their market position, customer base, brand awareness and the quality of their products,” said Hecimovich. “Idle Free is strong in all these areas. I’m proud to join the Idle Free team and have the opportunity to play a key role in the future success of North America’s most progressive and innovative APU company.”

Hecimovich comes to Idle Free with 20 years of experience in operational leadership, just-in-time manufacturing, global supplier development and lean manufacturing implementation. Most recently, he was Director of Manufacturing Operations for Cardiac Science Corporation, a $200 million manufacturer of Class 2 and Class 3 medical devices. Prior to that he was Quality Director for General Motors Corporation. His career began in aircraft engineering with General Electric Aircraft Engines, Lear Corporation and Boeing Corporation. Hecimovich has a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from St. Louis University.

Hecimovich’s appointment comes at a time of high growth for the company, which reported 250% year-over-year growth in its Idle Free electric APU sales and doubling the size of its manufacturing facility in 2012.

“Idle Free is experiencing double-digit growth as more and more fleets realize the value and power of our complete electric auxiliary power units,” said Robert Hopton, CEO of Idle Free Systems. “Steven’s depth of experience, leadership acumen, and track record of success are exactly what the company needs for its next major phase of growth.”
