Project will prepare campus for future market demands

(Appleton, WI) Woodside Senior Communities has selected Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction Inc. to renovate and expand their full continuum of care senior living campus at 1040 Pilgrim Way in Green Bay.

The $15 million project will be completed in two phases. Phase one features the design and construction of a new 20-unit memory care assisted living facility. “Fourteen new units will be added to an existing six unit neighborhood which will be renovated to form the campus’ newest neighborhood,” stated Hoffman senior project manager Kevin Madalinski. “The new program for services will include dining, activity, and social areas as well as an exterior courtyard. The exciting part of this phase of the project is to take an underutilized portion of the campus and transform it to provide a need in the community and grow the diversity of care and quality that Woodside is known for.” Phase one will also include the renovation of portions of the Primrose neighborhood, one of Woodside’s skilled nursing areas.

Phase two elements include the prominent addition of a fully outfitted rehabilitation center, the addition to and renovation of a skilled nursing facility (24-units), and creating a new primary entrance to the campus. “The goal of the project is to prepare our facility to meet the needs of the market for the next 20 years,” said Woodside Senior Communities executive director Scott Ross. “We felt that Hoffman really understood our goals for this project and we are looking forward to seeing this vision come to life.”

Madalinski added that the project is geared toward enhancing the already high quality of service that Woodside has provided the community since opening their doors in 1968. “The model for senior care facilities used to be reflective of a traditional medical-model nursing home,” Madalinski stated. “But we have found that creating an environment of “home”, while balanced in care-giving best practices and efficient design, positively impacts resident’s health and well being. That is the type of environment we will be creating with Woodside Senior Communities.”

The project has an anticipated completion date of fall 2015.
