Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin: Expands network to be closer to members in Sauk and Columbia counties

Madison, WI, September 3, 2013– Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) is expanding its network outside of Dane County. Beginning November 1, 2013 GHC-SCW members in Sauk and Columbia Counties will be able to access care closer to where they live and see providers at Prairie Clinic and Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics (SPMHC). Through the expansion, GHC-SCW members will be able to access Sauk Prairie Hospital, Orthopedic Associates, and Surgical Associates located in Prairie du Sac and Prairie Clinic, S.C. in Sauk City as well as other primary care clinics located in Black Earth, Spring Green, Plain, and Lodi.

“Our goal with the expansion is to offer our members access to high quality medical providers close to their homes in southern Sauk and Columbia Counties,” said Kevin Hayden, CEO of GHC-SCW. “We’ve listened to our members, as well as our employer partners and residents of the area served by Prairie Clinic and SPMHC. They’re telling us this is what they want and it’s our privilege to work with a strong, community-based providers like SPMHC and Prairie Clinic to make it possible.”
