Lovers & Patriots covers four years (1774-1777) in the lives of John and Abigail Adams. John Adams, the brilliant, fiercely independent, always honest Yankee patriot, “The Colossus of Independence” as Jefferson called him, and the wise and valiant Abigail Adams; outspoken and sharp-penned letters and whose passion for her husband and her support of the abolition of slavery, women’s rights, education, make her worthy of much belated, but well deserved recognition.
The First Unitarian Society is proud to announce for one show only, an original and loving tribute to the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ of the American Revolution. Lovers & Patriots: The Love Story of John & Abigail Adams, starring award-winning actors Lisa Burgess and Gary Anderson, tells one of the most moving love stories in American history.
