Discovery World Members Invited to Complete Halloween Experience on Friday, October 25

Milwaukee, WI: Discovery World, also known as the Center for Public Innovation, is set for an entire night of Halloween mischief and fun on Friday, October 25. Beginning with Halloween Members Night and culminating with the organization’s first-ever Members Sleepover, Discovery World will combine holiday fun and innovative experiences for a night its members won’t soon forget.

Completely free for Discovery World Members, and only $5 for guests of current members, Halloween Members Night will offer a handful of different experiences centered upon the theme of Halloween. The night will include Halloween themed projects in the Kohl’s Design It! Lab, Trick-or-Treating throughout the building, pumpkin-carving contests, and the transformation of Discovery World’s exhibit of a 19th Century Great Lakes Schooner into a family-friendly spooky experience.

The Trick-or-Treating will feature over 20,000 pieces of candy that have been donated for the event by Discovery World partners like Roundy’s Supermarkets, Nestle, Mars, Tootsie Roll Industries, Hershey, Evers Helig Inc. and Jelly Belly. And this is only the beginning of an exciting night on Milwaukee’s lakefront.

For those members hoping to get the full Discovery World experience, the night will also feature the organization’s first Members Sleepover. Available to students in third grade and above, the sleepover will allow participants to become a Mad Scientist by creating Mysterious Matter in the Mad Scientist Laboratory and examine how ketchup and paint are related. As well, all sleepover attendees will experience a haunted movie in the Discovery World’s Digital Theater.

The Members Night activities will run from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Members Sleepover taking place afterwards and finally wrapping up at 7:00 am the next morning. Anyone interested in learning more about Halloween Members Night and the Members Sleepover can call 414/765-8625 or visit http://www.discoveryworld.org/events/halloween-members-night/

Media interested in getting a close up view of the 20,000 pieces of candy to be distributed and examples of the types of ghoulishly fun experiences that will take place on Friday night are encouraged to arrange visits by Thursday, October 24th.
