Dells Raceway Park: Announces super late model events

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Super late model racing will return to Dells Raceway Park in a big way for 2013. Five events highlight the schedule including a return by the ARCA Midwest Tour. This season will provide the biggest names, closest competition and best super late model racing in recent years at Dells Raceway Park.

The first of three super late model events hosted by Dells Raceway Park hits the track Memorial Day weekend with the Cabin Fever 100 on Saturday, May 25. Just two weeks before the ARCA Midwest Tour event, the Cabin Fever 100 is sure to host some of the tour’s best drivers battling against some of the Dells regulars. The second race is a ARCA Midwest Tour point event on Saturday, June 8. The following two super late model events will be contested on Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, August 17. For the fifth and final event of 2013, the super late models will headline Dells Raceway Park’s second annual Showdown Weekend, September 20-22. The top two drivers in the three DRP hosted super late model events are guaranteed two of the twenty-four starting positions in the 150 lap Showdown.

All four of the scheduled Dells Raceway Park run super late model events will be 20 cars battling for 100 green flag laps of racing with a short break between laps 50-60. Rules will be based on ARCA Midwest Tour rules with an option for two or four barrel carburetors and qualifying on sticker or scuff tires. The 100 lap feature winners will receive $2000 with every car which starts the feature guaranteed $500. “We want to attract the best super late model drivers in the region,” stated track owner Wayne Lensing. “The payoff is one of the best in the area all the way through the field. The track is one of the most liked and our fans love super late model racing. Tickets for the Cabin Fever Weekend will go on sale at Dells Raceway Park’s 51st season opener on Saturday, May 4. It is the first of many “can’t miss events” scheduled for 2013.
