Burger Boat Company: Awarded passenger vessel contract

Manitowoc, Wisconsin, U.S.A. – Burger Boat Company is pleased to announce that it has received a contract for the construction of CHICAGO’S CLASSIC LADY, a 98′ (30m) steel passenger vessel for Chicago’s First Lady Cruises, Chicago, IL. CHICAGO’S CLASSIC LADY is a sistership to CHICAGO’S LEADING LADY built by Burger in 2011 and will be styled after the luxury cruising yachts of the 1920’s such as the former Presidential yacht SEQUOIA. CHICAGO’S CLASSIC LADY will serve as one of the vessels dedicated to the Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise and will be used for upscale private parties, weddings and corporate events.

The vessel, designed by Seacraft Design LLC, Sturgeon Bay, WI, will be built at Burger’s shipyard which is conveniently located in Manitowoc, WI.

CHICAGO’S CLASSIC LADY will be powered by two (2) Caterpillar C12 main engines and she will have two (2) Caterpillar C4.4 generators. This vessel is designed to carry a maximum of 299 passengers and will be certified USCG Subchapter K. The climate controlled interior will be decorated in mahogany toned paneling with brass accents. Comfortable seating positioned by large arched windows provide all passengers with a never-ending view of Chicago’s world famous skyline.
