The Building and Construction Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin is hosting the 11th annual Careers in Construction Event. Careers in Construction will host area high school students in an interactive career fair at the Arena Building of the Alliant Energy Center.
The BCTC of SCW is made up of 14 International Building Trades Unions and represents over 4,000 union construction trades workers who work and live in the greater Madison area.
Dave Branson, Executive Director of the Building and Construction Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin said “Careers in Construction is an interactive career fair hosted by the Building Trades Council. Over 600 high school students will participate in hands-on displays with Building Trades Representatives.”
Students from 21 area high schools will be attending the career fair. The Operating Engineers, Iron Workers, Electricians, Steamfitters, Plumbers, Bricklayers, Heat & Frost Insulators, Sheet Metal Workers, Painters, Laborers, and Plasterers will have interactive displays where students do hands on activities relating to the respective trades.
The career fair will be open to the public from Noon to 3:00 PM on March 20.
