Friday’s activities are free and open to the public.

This year marks the 11th Annual Bayfield in Bloom, running from May 17th through June 16th, 2013. Every year, 50,000 daffodils burst into bloom throughout Bayfield and the surrounding countryside, signaling the return of warm-weather recreation and the growing season at 14 Bayfield orchard and berry farms. Visitors can tour rolling orchards of pristine apple blossoms and a vibrant mosaic of roadside lupine and wildflowers as the season progresses. Numerous activities are offered throughout Bayfield’s month-long celebration of spring, many focusing on gardening and outdoor adventure, amongst the beautiful scenery of the Chequamegon Bay.

Ongoing events throughout Bayfield in Bloom include; perennial plant sales at Hauser’s Superior View Farm, wine tastings, Madeline Island Ferry trips, cruises of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, and Bayfield Ghost and History Walks. Those visiting Bayfield will also enjoy a weekend of Bayfield Garden Tours on June 8th and 9th, featuring over 20 area gardens and the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony on June 16th, honoring the rich maritime heritage of the Bayfield area.

Local businesses are offering lodging specials and spring retail Hot Deals as an added bonus for visitors during Bayfield in Bloom.
