MILWAUKEE CAB COMPANY GOING GREEN

American United Cab Adds Prius’ to Fleet – a First for City

MILWAUKEE – (September 24, 2013) Milwaukee’s streets will soon be served by the first Toyota Prius taxi cabs, being rolled out by American United Taxi Company. Widely known as a ‘green’ vehicle, the new Prius’ will boast the distinctive maroon color scheme of American United.

The initiative is designed to aid both the environment as well as taxicab drivers. The Prius’ not only emit a fraction of the carbon emissions of an ordinary sedan but also reduce fuel consumption by approximately 50% percent. Slashing fuel consumption leads to additional income for taxicab drivers as their expenses are reduced.

The company announced its plans to make a major investment in the innovation by converting half of its fleet to hybrid vehicles by 2015.

“We are committed to working with the City of Milwaukee to improve the taxi industry and provide the highest level of customer service. With the Prius’ in our fleet we’re doing our part not only to serve customers but to improve the wages for our drivers and reduce emissions for a cleaner environment,” company Vice President Red Christensen said.

The initial new vehicles will be unveiled on Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at company headquarters located at 646 S. 2nd Street Milwaukee, WI 53204.

Since 1997, American United has focused on being the best taxi services provider in the market. They have done this by consistently being at the forefront of technological innovation, from modern dispatch and installation of GPS and video surveillance equipment to partnering with online taxicab app Taxi Magic (www.taximagic.com) allowing customers to book taxis with the push of a button on their smart phones.
