Agrace: Names Dr. Michael Ostrov chief medical officer

MADISON, Wis. – Agrace today announced that it has hired Michael Ostrov, MD, MS, as chief medical officer, effective September 16. Agrace is a local, nonprofit palliative care and hospice agency that has provided end-of-life care and related services to people in southern Wisconsin communities for 35 years.

Dr. Ostrov joins Agrace from Group Health Cooperative (GHC), where he served in a series of clinical leadership roles since 1985. Most recently, Dr. Ostrov spent 15 years as GHC’s medical director, responsible for oversight of physician and practitioner staff. He also directed all medically related insurance functions, including quality management, care management, provider relations/contracting and credentialing.

Dr. Ostrov, who lives in Madison, spent two decades practicing family medicine. He has a master of science degree in administrative medicine from the University of Wisconsin/American College of Physician Executives. He received his medical degree from the St. Louis University School Medicine and conducted his residency with the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
