Small business group recognizes lawmaker for support on small business issues

Madison – The National Federation of Independent Business/Wisconsin (NFIB) today honored Representative Jeff Stone (R-82) for his consistent support on important small business issues during the 2011-12 legislative session.

“The Legislature dealt with a number of very important reforms that represented tough votes for legislators and Representative Stone is distinguished by his courage and commitment to small business,” said NFIB Wisconsin State Director Bill G. Smith.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the organization’s highest honor, reserved for lawmakers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and consistency in supporting the small business agenda. On the issues last session identified by NFIB members as most important, Stone notched a perfect 100 percent.

“Representative Stone voted with Wisconsin small businesses on every key issue,” said Smith. “He is among the strongest and steadiest advocates for small business owners in Madison and we are proud to honor him with this award.”
