MADISON – Daniel M. Riebe, president of Peoples Bank of Wisconsin, Eau Claire was elected to serve as the 2012-2013 chair of the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA).
The Wisconsin Bankers Association is the state’s largest financial industry trade association, representing nearly 300 commercial banks and savings institutions, their nearly 2,300 branch offices and 29,000 employees.
Riebe received his BBA in Finance, Investments and Banking from UW-Madison in 1991 and also completed the Graduate School of Banking in Madison in 1999. Prior to joining Peoples Bank, he gained banking experience at Firstar Bank and Coulee State Bank. He was selected to start the Eau Claire office of Peoples Bank in 1996 as Vice President-Commercial Lending. In 2000, he was promoted to Market President of the Eau Claire office and was appointed President of the bank in 2004. Riebe’s recent community involvement consists of currently serving on the Board for the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation and past board positions with the Eau Claire Area YMCA, Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, Chippewa Valley Museum Foundation and St. Mark Lutheran Church. His past WBA involvement consisted of serving as an instructor for the WBA School of Lending Principles.
Also serving as officers on the WBA Board are: Chair-Elect Thomas J. Pamperin, president/CEO of Premier Community Bank, Marion; Vice Chair Scott C. Lockard, president-Madison Market with U.S. Bank N.A., Madison; and Past Chair Robert J. Just, Jr., president/CEO of Mound City Bank, Platteville.
Joining the board for three-year terms are: Paul Adamski, chair & president, The Pineries Bank, Stevens Point; Mark Forsythe, president/CEO, Peoples State Bank, Prairie du Chien; Peter Knitt, president/CEO, Peoples State Bank, Wausau; and Mark Meloy, president/CEO, First Business Bank, Madison.
Those continuing their terms on the board are: Robert J. Cera, CEO, Baylake Bank, Sturgeon Bay; Cynthia K. Erdman, president/CEO, First Bank of Tomah, Tomah; Jay McKenna, executive vice president/chief operating officer, North Shore Bank, Brookfield; Peter J.
