FORUM: Milwaukee’s Economy: Next Steps for Growth

January 25 • 8:30 – 10 am at Discovery World

MILWAUKEE, WI – WUWM 89.7 FM – Milwaukee Public Radio, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and WisBusiness.com present a public forum, “Milwaukee’s Economy: Next Steps for Growth.” Local community leaders will analyze the state of the Milwaukee-area’s economy.

The forum will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Discovery World (500 North Harbor Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202). Tickets are $15. No charge for students who present a valid ID. Pre-registration is required. Street or paid parking is available. Forum participants include:

–Rose Oswald Poels, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association;

–Julia Taylor, president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, a major sponsor of the Milwaukee 7 and other regional economic development initiatives;

–William Holahan, professor, UW-Milwaukee economics department;

–Dave Rotter, president and chief executive officer of National Ace Hardware, which runs two stores in the city of Milwaukee. Rotter also is on the board of Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation.
