The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council recognizes FEECO International, Inc. as a “Green Professional” under the Green Masters Program.

Green Bay, WI (December 2011) – Developed by the WI Sustainable Business Council and Wisconsin businesses, in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin, the Green Masters Program helps to recognize Wisconsin’s sustainability leaders and encourage continuous improvement in sustainability practices. FEECO International has been recognized by the Green Masters Program as a “Green Professional”. Recognition in the program signifies a company’s outstanding dedication to integrating principles of sustainability into its operations while pursuing business excellence. As a Green Professional, FEECO International has performed actions in each of the nine “sustainability areas,” and has earned more than 100 points.

FEECO, a manufacturing and waste transformation company, has been in business for over 60 years, serving various industries around the world. Since 1951, FEECO has been manufacturing equipment and developing processes based on extensive lab testing, in order to transform waste materials into value-added products. From corn cobs into cat litter, to egg shells into calcium supplements, FEECO’s experience of turning wastes into value runs the gamut. “What FEECO does is very unique. Their approach to waste as an opportunity is what sustainability is all about, “ stated Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. “We are thrilled to recognize them as an exemplar for Wisconsin industry.”

FEECO International, Inc. was founded in 1951 to supply the fertilizer industry and has grown over the years offering equipment and solutions to companies worldwide in a variety of industries. FEECO specializes in turning problems into opportunities. FEECO provides a wide range of products and services including: Lab Testing, Thermal Processing, Agglomeration, and Material handling equipment / systems, Parts, Maintenance Programs, Training, etc. “FEECO has a rich history in sustainability,” stated Nick Reckinger, Process Sales & Sustainability Coordinator at FEECO. “FEECO is always working towards more sustainable practices within our operations and continues to assist our customers to find economical solutions to their waste problems. In my time here, we have helped customers divert thousands of tons of waste material from landfills.”

The Green Professional designation is the second highest tier in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. Candidates are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues from energy and natural resource use to education outreach and purchasing. 94 Wisconsin businesses have participated in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest “Green Master” designation.
