With addition of Robert Dallman and David Swanson, Firm Expands Deep Contested Tax Team

Milwaukee — The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. has enhanced its Corporate Practice Group with the addition of tax law attorneys Robert E. Dallman and David C. Swanson. Both attorneys have extensive experience in federal and state tax issues and business planning.

Dallman brings more than 25 years of federal and state tax litigation expertise either for or against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and selected state taxing authorities. He has been a tax attorney in private practice for more than 20 years, and was previously an IRS trial attorney in Washington, D.C. and in Milwaukee. Dallman is the only Wisconsin tax attorney to be invited multiple times to the U.S. Judicial Tax Conference of the Tax Court. He is the only Wisconsin tax attorney to be listed on an IRS maintained list of potential arbiters, the only Milwaukee-based tax attorney who is a member of the IRS Liaison Committee in Wisconsin, is Chair of Milwaukee Tax Club, and is the founder of the Wisconsin State and Local Tax Club.

Swanson has represented clients before the IRS, Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission. Most recently, he completed a six-year term on the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission. Swanson was appointed to the Commission by the Governor in 2005 and appointed Chairperson in 2008. All decisions issued and appealed during his term were affirmed by higher courts. He earned his B.A. from Northwestern University, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to law school, Swanson served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy (1987-1991).

The attorneys join a nationally recognized group of professionals in the fields of tax law, securities law, corporate finance and general corporate counseling who have extensive experience in a wide range of corporate merger, acquisition, divestiture and reorganization transactions.

“We believe that helping our clients achieve success requires the continuous enhancement of our team,” says WHD Chief Executive Paul Eberle. “We now offer the very best and deepest contested tax team in the state—for federal, state or local tax. Robert Dallman and David Swanson complement and expand our already exceptional corporate practice.”
