Investment by company will create 20 jobs

REESEVILLE, July 13, 2012 – Specialty Cheese Company is investing over $6 million to construct and equip an expansion at its facility in Reeseville.

Paul Jadin, CEO/Secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) today announced during a visit to the plant that it is providing a low interest $200,000 loan to the company to assist in its expansion. The company has committed to creating 20 jobs and retaining the 100 existing positions.

“This partnership helps Specialty Cheese improve its efficiency and expand its production,” Jadin said. “Modernizing our dairy manufacturing capability and helping companies take advantage of new market opportunities keeps Wisconsin’s dairy industry strong and growing.”

Specialty Cheese was founded in 1991 and produces 35 varieties of cheese for the Hispanic, Arabic, Indian and other ethnic markets. The company also specializes in crunchy low carb cheese snacks. In an effort to expand capacity, improve quality and efficiency Specialty Cheese consolidated three smaller and older manufacturing plants into their main site in Reeseville. The company broke ground on the expansion in April and will start full production in October, according to Paul Scharfman, president of the company.

The low interest loan from WEDC is for ten years.
