Statement by Wisconsin Bankers Association president/CEO Rose Oswald Poels
regarding the capture and arrest of the individuals responsible for the two separate series of bank robberies

“On behalf of our membership we want to thank the various law enforcement agencies on both sides of our state who worked diligently to bring to justice these dangerous individuals. It was good to hear that the individuals responsible for the ten robberies on the western side of our state were being charged for their crimes on the same day the individuals responsible for an additional ten robberies on the eastern side of Wisconsin were arrested.”

The Wisconsin Bankers Association in conjunction with Anchor Bank and M&I, a part of BMO Financial Group, offered a joint reward of up to $7,000 or information leading to the arrest and conviction of the criminal who had robbed ten banks in the Madison and Middleton areas over the last few months.

At the same time, a joint reward of up to $8,500 was offered by Johnson Bank, the National Exchange Bank & Trust and the WBA for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the criminal who robbed ten banks in the western part of Wisconsin.
