Milwaukee – Two veteran family law attorneys have teamed to open Vitek & Probst, S.C., a new Milwaukee-based firm providing solutions to complex family law issues for clients throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Nina M. Vitek and Jane E. Probst have nearly 50 years combined experience in a wide range of courtrooms and environments. Both have practiced their entire careers in the Milwaukee area, gaining extensive familiarity with its legal landscape.

Vitek & Probst, S.C., represents clients in a broad spectrum of family law issues including divorce, legal separation, custody, child support, paternity, grandparents’ rights, adoptions, guardianships, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and international jurisdictional matters.

Vitek, a graduate of the University of Nebraska Law School, is a regular speaker and author on family law topics. She has been in private practice since 1987, most recently partnering with the late Sandra Stein in Vitek & Stein, S.C. Her career began at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in its Child Support Enforcement, Paternity Division.

Vitek is recognized in the “Divorce” category in the 2012 edition of “Wisconsin’s Top-Rated Lawyers.” She is a member of the Society of Family Lawyers, Milwaukee Bar Association, American Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. She holds a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Probst has litigated a wide range of cases encompassing family law, civil law, juvenile matters and criminal defense. She offers clients alternative, often less-acrimonious means to resolve divorces through her certification as a Divorce Mediator and membership in the Collaborative Divorce Council of Wisconsin. She most recently practiced as a shareholder with Halling & Cayo, S.C.

In addition to her family law work, Probst practices equine law, which focuses on businesses, contracts and other legal matters related to horses. Her background also includes real estate and probate practice. She is a graduate of Marquette University Law School.

Probst is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She is a member of the American Inns of Matrimonial Lawyers, Society of Family Law, Milwaukee Bar Association, Waukesha Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. She holds a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
