KEWASKUM, WI (July 17, 2012) – A ceremony will be held at USW Hall, 1230 Fond Du Lac Avenue, Kewaskum, Wisconsin, on August 4th 2012 at 10:00 a.m. to formally dedicate a flag pole and memorial bench recently installed by USW Local 850 to honor the service, achievements and sacrifices of all veterans.

“We owe a public thank you for the freedoms achieved by our veterans. Whether overseas or at-home, their commitment and efforts help defend and preserve our freedoms” said Carol Vetter, President of USW Local 850. “It is because of this unified belief that our USW Local 850 membership unanimously approved funding for the Veterans Project, which will be a physical memorial that pays tribute to all veterans.”

Special Recognition for Einar H. Ingman – Korean War Hero & Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient

A Wisconsin native, former Local 849 Union member and Regal Ware Inc. employee, Mr. Ingman’s heroic Korean War service earned him the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1951. The medal emblem is portrayed on the bench, as well as a statement verifying the dedication of the bench and flag pole to Einar Ingman and all veterans – whether they served in times of war or peace. Ingman’s son, Jim Ingman, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the dedication event, and will join other dignitaries in the ceremony.

Food and beverages will be available following the event.
