MADISON, Wis. — Being a financially savvy woman involves taking charge of your finances and making decisions that have important financial implications.

To help women gain the financial knowledge they need and become successful planners, Summit Credit Union is holding two free seminars entitled, “Spend Less, Save More, Enjoy Life: Financial Tips for Women in Today’s Economy.”

The seminars will be held on Thurs., Feb. 9 and repeated on Thurs., March 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bonfyre American Grill, at Arbor Gate Towers, located on 2601 West Beltline Highway in Madison.

The seminars will be broken into two, 45-minute segments. The first half will include identifying financial goals, with participants learning how to track spending, develop a spending plan, evaluate credit card use and create a plan to pay down debt and to free up income to save more. The second half of the session will detail why women need to save more for retirement, and will include investing tips and an overview of the types of investing options available.

Attendees will receive a workbook and detailed steps to take to create a plan to spend less, save more and enjoy life.

Both seminars are open to the public. Please register by visiting http://www.summitcreditunion.com/community/events.html or by calling (608) 243-5000 or (800) 236-5560.
