MADISON, Wis. — Summit Credit Union awarded $1,500 tuition scholarships to five students at its annual spring membership meeting. Over the past 11 years, Summit has been able to help more than 30 deserving students pursue higher education.
The Mary Siedlecki Honorarium Scholarship was awarded to:
· David Marshall of Lodi, Wis. Marshall is a 2011 graduate of Waunakee High School and is attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in biochemistry with an emphasis on pre-med.
The four Volunteer Board of Directors Scholarships were awarded to:
· Emily Perkins of Portage. Perkins is a 2012 graduate of Portage High School, and is attending the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, majoring in international business/sales & marketing.
· Aspen Van Horn of Sun Prairie. Van Horn is a 2012 graduate of Sun Prairie High School and is attending Judson University in Elgin, Ill., majoring in graphic design.
· Dillon Weber of Sun Prairie. Weber is a 2012 graduate of Sun Prairie High School and is attending the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in chemical engineering.
· Taylor Zimprich of Waunakee. A 2012 graduate of Waunakee High School, Zimprich is attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in accounting.
Ninety-six students applied for the scholarships this year. Recipients were chosen based on grade point averages, extracurricular activities, community activities, employment experience and an essay on “The Credit Union Difference.”
