Whole food supplement manufacturer recognized for its commitment to the environment

PALMYRA, Wis. — Standard Process Inc. was recognized as a top private company in Wisconsin by Deloitte. Appearing for the fifth consecutive year on the annual listing, Standard Process climbed three spots to No. 57 and was one of only five companies recognized with a Distinguished Performer Award. Charles C. DuBois, president of Standard Process, accepted the award which recognizes Standard Process’ special accomplishments in protecting the environment.

“Standard Process is honored to be named to the Wisconsin 75 list for the fifth consecutive year,” said DuBois. “Earning the Distinguished Performer Award for our commitment to the environment reinforces that we are doing our part in being ‘green’ by balancing economic growth with sustainable practices.”

At Standard Process, its biggest sustainable effort to help the environment is also what makes the 83-year-old company unique: organic farming. Standard Process grows crops for use in its whole food supplements on 450 acres of company-owned, certified organic farmland. And though organic farming requires a large commitment in terms of human and financial resources, Standard Process is fortunate to have experienced continued financial growth, reporting nearly $125 million in revenue last year.

Presented by accounting and business consulting firm Deloitte, the Wisconsin 75 program names the largest privately held businesses headquartered in Wisconsin. Awards were presented during a breakfast program held Oct. 2 at Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Through a voluntary submission process, companies qualifying for the list must be headquartered in Wisconsin; majority owned by an individual(s), family or employee stock ownership plan (ESOP); and has a minimum of $50 million in annual sales revenue. Companies are then ranked by overall revenue. Four other Distinguished Performer Awards were presented in the areas of community, entrepreneurship, generations and people.
