MILWAUKEE – Jerome M. Janzer, CEO of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart), announces the addition of Martin P. Tierney, shareholder in the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Area. Tierney counsels a wide range of national and global corporate clients on the complexities of executive compensation, tax qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, payroll taxes, and employee benefits matters in mergers and acquisitions. He represents clients facing IRS and Department of Labor audits and also helps clients in preemptive actions, including internal plan audits and self-correction.
In addition to serving as an employee benefits attorney with another law firm, Tierney’s background includes several years of experience in a senior advisory role with a national consulting/accounting firm.
A noted speaker and author on executive compensation and nonqualified deferred compensation issues, Tierney has published numerous articles and is a senior editor for the Journal of Pension Benefits.
Tierney earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and his B.A. from the University of Chicago.
