Quaker Steak & Lube: Benefit for wife of longtime employee to be held at Middleton Quaker Steak & Lube

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MIDDLETON, WI. 28 year old Sarah Aken, wife of Middleton Quaker Steak & Lube’s longtime bar manager, Andy Aken – with QS&L since its opening, was in a life altering accident while riding an ATV at her home in August. Sarah lost control of her machine and it flipped over. She sustained a debilitating back injury in the accident. Andy Aken has been a member of the QS&L Middleton team since its doors opened in 2004. Now, the Quaker Steak & Lube family is rallying around the couple to show their support and holding a benefit to let the community follow their lead.

The benefit is scheduled on Saturday, December 8th from 5pm to close. ALL proceeds will go directly to the Aken’s and will help Andy and Sarah make much needed alterations to their home and vehicle. Their home needs a wheelchair ramp and their car needs to be converted to handicap controls, estimated at $2000. Proceeds will allow Andy and Sarah to purchase two needed wheelchairs that cost $5000 apiece, as well as assist with mounting medical bills.

Madison area band “Bob Rocks” will be performing live from 8pm to Midnight on December 8th. A silent auction will be held from 5pm to 8pm. Guests will not be charged a cover and are encouraged to come enjoy a night of fun to help one of Quaker Steak & Lube’s nearest and dearest.
