Middleton, WI. 16 September, 2012. When Quaker Steak and Lube owner, Scott Acker’s, mother-in-law, Rosie, succumbed to ovarian cancer in early 2009, he knew he wanted to create a way to honor her. Based upon Rosie’s love of her pristine 1966 Corvette convertible, he created “Rosie’s Car Show.” “Rosie’s Car Show” encourages people to bond over classic cars. And it does so in the name of charity. Proceeds of the classic car show support Gilda’s Club of Madison.

Gilda’s Club offers a welcoming community of free support for everyone living with cancer—men, women, teens and children—along with their families and friends. Gilda’s Club innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education, and social activities.

“People love their classic cars. This event is a great way to get out, for folks to show off their classic pride and joy’s, and take their mind off of everything. And it helps an amazing charity,” says Acker.

The car show takes place on Sunday, September 16th, at Middleton Quaker Steak and Lube, located at 2259 Deming Way, in Middleton. The event begins at 11 a.m. Quaker Steak and Lube’s famously delicious food will be served as a lunch buffet at 12p.m. Judging of cars starts at 12:30, and a plaque will be awarded to the best in show.

Tickets for “Rosie’s Car Show” are available at Middleton Quaker Steak and Lube for $20 and include a lunch buffet for two people. To pre-register, or for donation information, contact Middleton Quaker Steak and Lube at 608.831.5823.
