Seasoned financial services professional joins regional consulting firm

Brookfield, WI, April 5, 2012 – Erik Owen, President of Oak Hill Business Partners, a Brookfield, WI consulting firm, has announced that Philip McGoohan has joined the regional consulting firm as Partner.

“Phil comes to Oak Hill with deep experience in banking and mergers & acquisitions, and will be helping us with our existing service offerings in growth management and M&A; and he will also be rolling out our new offering – Financial Institution Services – helping community-based banks, credit unions, and savings institutions deal with today’s challenging credit and regulatory environment,” said Owen.

McGoohan’ s background includes 17 years in commercial banking at M&I Bank where he rose to Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Division Manager; and approximately a third of his career in investment banking where he specialized in M&A transactions, capital raising for private companies, leveraged finance, and corporate valuations for such companies as Cleary Gull Reiland McDevitt & Collopy, Inc. (n/k/a Cleary Gull, Inc.) where he started its investment banking organization, and Anderson/Roethle, Inc., both headquartered in Milwaukee.

More recently, McGoohan was Vice President-Commercial Banking for US Bank in Milwaukee, WI, working with companies ranging in annual revenue size from $20,000,000 to $500,000,000+, primarily located in the State of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. Prior to joining US Bank, McGoohan was President and CEO of CU BizSource, LLC, a Middletown, PA-based start-up business services company providing commercial lending and related non-credit services to credit unions throughout the United States.

“We are delighted to have Phil join us as Partner,” said Erik Owen. “He brings 30+ years of global financial services leadership in commercial lending, M&A/acquisitions/divestitures, strategic planning and new business development to Oak Hill. This, along with his strategic mindset and solid consultative experience working with middle market companies and financial institutions, will greatly benefit our clients.”

McGoohan said, “I’m honored to join Oak Hill Business Partners, the premier professional services firm in the Milwaukee 7 region. Our expertise in the growth management area as well as our merger and acquisition support and financial institution services set Oak Hill apart. I look forward to working with community-based financial institutions to deal with today’s challenging credit and regulatory environment and contributing to their success.”

McGoohan has served as a director of a number of privately-held corporations, including Krueger International, Inc., Pieper Electric Company, and Brady Financial Corporation. He has also held leadership roles and board positions with numerous community organizations in Milwaukee such as the United Performing Arts Fund, Museum of Science, Economics, & Technology (n/k/a Discovery World), Neighborhood House of Milwaukee, Forward Wisconsin, and Christ Pond Foundation.

He holds a MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, and an A.B. degree in history from Trinity College. He is also a Lincoln Fellow from the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy.
