Contribution to fund scholarships and NWTC Tech Camp

July 11, 2012 (Green Bay, WI) The Georgia-Pacific Foundation has donated $15,000 for educational program support to the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Educational Foundation. At a ceremony at NWTC Tuesday, Georgia-Pacific representatives presented a check for $7,500 for NWTC Tech Camp and another $7,500 check for student scholarships.

Tech Camp is NWTC’s summer career education program for middle school students. Georgia-Pacific’s funding will support the Math Camp, Science Camp, and Manufacturing Camp. The Georgia-Pacific Scholarships will provide financial support for economically disadvantaged students pursuing careers in manufacturing and engineering.

“Georgia Pacific’s generous donation will directly benefit students who are committed to advancing their education and careers,” said NWTC Foundation director Crystal Harrison. “With their support, more middle school students can now attend NWTC’s Tech Camp and more NWTC students can afford an education.”

“With the help of partners like Georgia-Pacific, we’re able to provide long-term value to our community and help grow a healthy manufacturing climate in northeast Wisconsin.”
