Madison, WI – Lopez Law Group, LLC, a leading immigration law office in Madison, has joined the law firm of Murphy Desmond S.C. as an immigration practice group. Lopez Immigration Law at Murphy Desmond includes Attorney Glorily A. Lopez, Associate Attorney Raluca Vais-Ottosen, law clerk Maryam Ghayyad, and paralegal staff.
Attorney Glorily A. Lopez, who joins Murphy Desmond as a shareholder, exclusively practices U.S. immigration and nationality law. Lopez earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2000. Her experience includes work with family, employment, business, and individual immigration petitions, as well as consular processing, naturalization, and deportation defense. Lopez is included on lists for Best Lawyers in America and Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Stars in Immigration Law. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, previously served on the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and is the immediate past Chair of the Wisconsin Chapter of AILA. Lopez is fluent in Spanish.
Attorney Raluca Vais-Ottosen also works in immigration and nationality law. Her experience includes representing clients in employment matters in federal court. She earned her L.L.M. from Louisiana State University, and is licensed in Wisconsin and New York. Vais-Ottosen is fluent in Romanian.
Maryam Ghayyad will earn her law degree from the UW Law School in May and become an associate attorney at Murphy Desmond. She is set to receive the 2012 Bercovici Prize for Jurisprudence/Legal Philosophy for excellence in the study of jurisprudence and legal philosophy. Ghayyad worked as a law clerk and paralegal for Lopez Law Group, LLC. She graduated summa cum laude from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Ghayyad is fluent in Spanish.
